Daphne and her fiance, Heath, have one very important thing in common--secrets. Their mysterious pasts bind them like some unspoken spell. They're safe with each other because they're both too afraid to ask questions, not wanting to open up their Pandora's box of sins.
But Heath is struggling. He's being tormented, not only by who he was but by who helped make him that way.
The two set out for a couple's retreat where Heath is determined to finally find relief. But once the secrets are out in the open, there's no turning back, and there will be hell to pay.
This twisted tale is another prime example of why I'm such a fan of Emily Carpenter's work. Her stellar writing and attention to the psychological side of things keep me desperate for more. I already can't wait for her next book!
